The Mummy 3

Working on "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" was not only a labor of love, it was also very much an education in Tibetan and ancient Chinese architecture. Working closely with Production Designer Nigel Phelps, I designed a wide range of sets and elements including: a Petra-like facade of columns carved out of a Tibetan mountainside, an "underground" temple filled with hundreds of sculpted recreations of Terracotta Warriors, the central golden stuppa in the middle of a sacred Tibetan temple, the giant stone gate at the entrance to the sacred path, and many other parts of the film's huge number of sets as well.
